2012 MATHCOUNTS State Result

California

Congratulations to Celine Liang for winning the MATHCOUNTS State Competition in Northern California.  She will represent California in the National MATHCOUNTS Competition in Orlando, Florida from May 10th to 13th, 2012. Celine has been a Math Zoom student since 2010. She is currently taking the MC-IV online classes at Math Zoom, and has been privately coached by Dr. Kevin Wang. According to Dr. Wang, it is no surprise for Celine to achieve consistently outstanding results.  She not only has the talents, but also has the true passion for mathematics, and is willing to work hard to reach her full potential.

Merit Award for Grade 6 and Below

• International Math Competition: Two time Math Zoom Camp alumni Sarah Herrmann brings home the bronze medal for the US Team from the China Girls Math Olympiad (CGMO)

• MathCounts 2011 National Competition was held from May 6 to 8 in Washington DC. Math Zoom students Alex Hong, and Celine Liang, along with two other teammates Andrew He and Sean Shi, won the national team championship for California Team. Scott Wu (Louisiana) won the Individual Championship by winning Countdown round. Math Zoom participants Shyam Narayanan (Kansas) won the individual written round. Another Math Zoom participant Yang Liu (Missouri) won the Master Round.
