MathCounts

We at Math Zoom highly recommend the MathCounts contest to middle school students. Math Zoom directors attend the MathCounts National Contest events regularly and have served as graders and other roles to stay involved in the program. Our faculty Dr. Harold Reiter is on the Judge Panel for the final national contest. He is also on the problem writing committee for MathCounts. Math Zoom Summer and Year Round Programs have extensive training for MathCounts in problem solving skills, communication, fast response, decision making and teamwork to put the students in the winning track as a Mathlete. Please ask for the MC-I course and MathCounts BootCamp to get training for MathCounts.

MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievements. Celebrating its 26th year, MATHCOUNTS is one of the country’s largest and most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors and students. Presidents such as Bush, Clinton, and Reagan have all recognized MATHCOUNTS in the White House ceremonies. The MATHCOUNTS program has also received two White House citations as an outstanding private sector initiative. MathCounts is not only a math contest, it makes math and the math community charming, in style, and exciting. With the award of large amount of scholarships, great public relations and high media exposure, the MathCounts National events is presented as a true brain sports event that people would enjoy watching. The winners of the contest not only win scholarship, but also are treated like a star and get to meet the president at the White House, and interviewed on the national television.
